    Fedor vs Henderson

    http://www.mmafighting.com/2011/04/1...oker-confirms/

I got Fedor by TKO or submission. The guy was a beast at HW fighting guys outweighing him 30+ pounds on a regular basis. Now he's fighting a MW/LHW, Henderson has nothing for him in this fight. Should be fun to watch though, I would love the line to open at -200 or less.

"The date, I would say, is probably late summer," Coker said after Saturday night's Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley event. "Some things are still being negotiated."

We asked Fedor if he'd come down to 205 [pounds], and that didn't come to a good result," said Coker. "So, you know, we're going to keep pushing and hopefully have something to announce in the next two weeks or so. Right now, the fight's not made yet. Sometimes it's the little things – and I don't want to get into the contract negotiations – but it's the little things where somebody wants this, somebody wants that."

as much as I would love for this fight to happen, I wouldnt count on it happen that soon, if it happens at all. Maybe 2012...M1 global has been known to prolong Fedors fights because of their contract negotiations. Now that Zuffa is involved, it may become even harder for M1 global to reach any kind of agreement on this fight.

As for the fight itself, Henderson has plenty for him in this fight (world class wrestler, very heavy hands).. yeah, Fedor should win this one, but it will be a great fight. -200 or less? I see it opening at -300 or more, like any Fedor line..even off back to back losses. Books always make him a heavy favorite. If Dan is a decent underdog (+180 or more), I will take him. Henderson has a lot of fight left in him and a huge will to keep fighting, while Fedor just seems apathetic to MMA lately.

I'd like to see the fight.. I mean Dan wants to stay busy. I don't want to see this fight unless it is 5 rounds though.

It's silly for this fight to happen at catch weight. There is plenty of other interesting fights for Fedor at heavyweight if his fat ass doesn't want to make what should be an easy cut to 205. ... Unless Fedor doesn't want to get locked into a contract with a champion's clause.

I agree, why fight a guy who has fought at 185, plenty of heavyweights to battle

Can't believe fedor doesn't want to slim down to 205, it would probably make him faster and more agile.

Interesting matchup, Dan had balls the size of watermelons to fight a dangerous heavyweight like Fedor.

after that I don't know how we can sneak Fedor's 4th straight loss as a dog, but who knows it might be somebody like SDR at evens. Which would be awesome.

I could see Fedor submitting Hendo. Hendo might also be able to take Fedor down at will, should be interesting.

size matters because the big guys have evolved. gracie wouldn't stand a chance against the big guys now.

It's just speculation but I think Fedor's hands are quicker and with Hendo willing to trade brawls style he probably gets gets clipped by a guy with heavyweight power but light heavyweight speed.

    "
Although rumors had mounted that Emelianenko could cut to 205 pounds following his first back-to-back defeats at heavyweight, Finkelchtein asserted that the fight with Henderson would take place at heavyweight.

“Fedor weighs about 100 kilograms (220 pounds) right now, so he would take the fight in his own weight category,” he said."

I think that is absolute bs...Fedor should have to cut to 205 to take this fight. Henderson is the LHW champ, Fedor is a nobody in strikeforce at this point...why should Hendo have to move up to fight Fedor? The champ should have the final say on this...and if he does have to move up, it will not be for any belt.

I hope Fedor gets some new life at light heavy eventually? I'm afraid he's another Wanderlei Silva....just too worn out from too many wars in Pride? If he can't stop a older/smaller Hendo then he needs to give it up!

Maybe I'm just ruling Hendo out too easily, but I just can't see him beating Fedor. He's not a high level grappler. He's always been a guy that takes you down and lays on you if he wrestles. Fedor could submit him from bottom and especially on top. Standup wise, I think Fedor is just as likely to KO him as vice versa. Fedor is the better striker and grappler. Hendo has the wrestling and big right. Add a size advantage for Fedor and it's just a lot of benefits for him in this fight.
