Thank you, Raiders! I've compared the 4q Daily BTC results: 2013 vs 2017 vs 2021. Yes, all the volatility metrics have slowed down, I don't see a HUGE down-tick coming.

The Daily mean is still positive but not as high. More importantly, the Variance, Skewness and Kurtosis are all down significantly. In the previous cycles, behavior was violent.

you bitcoin beyond experts thanks for so much info now and over the years.

question a major exchange has created last month a coin called
    BCHA Bitcoin Cash ABC
and left some in my account (some split or something from bitcoin cash I suppose)
I did not do anything the coins just appeared.

on the exchange no way to turn it into another coin like tether or BTC directly on the exchange, only option is withdraw to a wallet.

any ideas where to send it to eventually turn it into a coin that can be traded a bit easier?

    thanks

KuCoin. It's also rebranded to eCash (XEC).

Institutional money has changed the game. A major crash at this time would kill the future of bitcoin and that's not the best interest of anyone.

Some day bitcoin will have to switch from PoW to PoS for scalability and fees. If the change that ETH is making from PoW to PoS works, that will open a lot of eyes. If there isn't a switch, there will have to be a bitcoin fork to increase the maximum supply.
What would you consider a major crash? After this cycle completes a 50% or more drop in the btc price is possible and in fact likely. The question is will the drop be from a cycle high of $75000, $100,000,$135,000,$180,000 or higher.

Any opinions on lengthening cycles/diminishing returns/declining ROI/logarithmic regression. As the asset matures reduced volatility also brings less opportunity for parabolic returns. The next halving cycle in 2024 will be less volatile than this one and this one less volatile than 2017 In my opinion this is the last great opportunity

I think there's some truth to what you're saying. See my notes above.

As this cycle plays out, I think there's going to be enough market cap that it becomes more like a NORMAL market. Anyone charting BTC sees the SMALLER jumps and the SMALLER dips. I'd like to think that we don't see a Top to Trough correction of 50% in 2022.

Are you sure that is almost 15%?You can always try trading btc for a coin with lower transfer fees and transfer that coin but then you pay the trading fee and it looks like the btc fees are low.
Withdrawal fees on Voyager can be expensive. These vary depending on the cryptocurrency you're withdrawing. For some stablecoins, Voyager charges withdrawal fees equivalent to $35. Here are Voyager's withdrawal fees on the most popular cryptocurrencies:

    CRYPTOCURRENCY WITHDRAWAL FEE
    Bitcoin (BTC) 0.0005
    Ethereum (ETH) 0.00436
    Cardano (ADA) 2
    Tether (USDT) 35
    USD Coin (USDC) 35

I'll say it one more time for those that have missed it.

For you guys in the states u should be holding your very big amounts of crypto on a hardware wallet.

Your second choice should be the safepal wallet. On safepal you can access binance without kyc trade between any coins u want the fees like be much lower then the exchanges.

Fees per crypto change month to month on Voyager, so no list with all the fees, at least from what I can find. One thing I don't like about them. The only way to check a particular fee is if you hold that crypto. Litecoin was cheap last time I transferred out to an external wallet, but that's been a while back. Online you can find posts (reddit, etc.) with fees listed but the dates vary.

As mentioned, coverting to Litecoin can save on the fees. Converting to Bitcoin Cash is another cheap transfer option. XLM, XRP, EOS are all pennies to send....

What about using regular ol' fiat (cash)?

The crashes $31 to $2 and $20,000 to $300 were major crashes. The 2018 crash was helped by the ICO boom and the subsequent fraud that ensued . I agree that 50% from the all time high wouldn't be unreasonable at all, in fact it already happened once in this run. If we hit $100k, the floor won't go down to $10k. As is there will be a $30k floor.

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he's referring to network fees. I assume he means the fee that Voyager charges to withdraw (crypto). They charge a flat rate which varies per coin, in some cases quite expensive. The only way to know each individual fee (it fluctuates) is in the app and only if you have said crypto. One aspect I don't like about them, should be posted on their website or in app for all to see.

right now its in an exchange that has no ability to do anything with it other than withdraw to another wallet address, dont think any psortsbooks take this minor crypto!

Yes, good point. I think some wallets/exchanges charge the going network fee + a little something for themselves. I have no idea how Voyager does it. Unless it's a flat rate for all coins, they probably have some variation that depends on the network.

I used the Celsius wallet for a while - another one of the interest-earning wallets. Hated their withdrawal white list. It takes 24 hours to get a withdrawal address whitelisted. Several times, I wanted to buy something right then but had to wait 24 hours. It cost me several times. Finally, I got fed up and withdrew everything. One good thing was there were no withdraw fees with Celsius - they paid for all withdraws - so there's that....
