its clearly states in coinbase policy rules and regulations. that they will freeze/close your account if the funds are used for gambling purposes .... dont trust a sports book cust service rep. .... they known penetrate all and dont care too.... im sure they make a little better than min. wage

We have not seen anyone post about having a Coinbase account, or any other, banned for gambling use in quite a while. I personally think this is probably due to their original tracking solution no longer working since wallets pretty much all started using a new address for each transaction by default.

What Lineshifterz says about gambling use being banned in Coinbase (and all US licensed exchanges) terms is still correct though.

I don't know how important it is to respect that rule now but personally I think it is smarter to still do so.

And in this particular case, if a book claims they have hundreds of users sending direct under their instructions, then that is one book I would definitely not send directly to. As they are just putting themselves and their clients on the radar encouraging "hundreds of players" to do that.

Looks like Gemini lets you use ACH to deposit with. Is it alright to use for a sportsbook after going through a wallet of course. Tbanks

Gemini is very valuable when buying Bitcoin. They probably give you the best price.

I wouldn't send directly from Gemini to a sportsbook. I wouldn't want to give a place like Coinbase... Gemini a reason to ban me.

    1. Gemini to Blockchain.

    2. Blockchain to sportsbook.

This is something else. Sounds like an inexperienced chat support rep.

What a bunch of crap this is. Of course my bank isnt on there little bank list so I still would have to wire a deposit to verify. It is easier to just do it other ways. Thanks for the help but this just isnt the thing for me.

The only issue with that... some bnks charge around $25.00 for outgoing wire.

There are some bnks that will give you free outgoing wires... but you have to be on a higher tier savings... or chk acct.

Mine charges $15. A USA bank user told me theirs charges $10 a day or two ago.

I think it's worth it for overnight v 5 business days personally.

We've been paying 4 or 5 bucks for bitcoin transfers recently.

I appreciate all the advice. Thank you. But I just wanted to set in front of the computer and make some clicks and be done. If I have to wait a couple of days I am not in that big of a hurry. I live in a small town everybody knows everybody dont want to go down to the bank and do this wire thing plus the extra expense. ACH is easier. I might look at coinbase again. I know some of you are not big fans but their deposit options are better right now.

I'm warning you coinbase is the devil. But you are free to do as you choose. Just hope you never need customer support or lose your phone.

It's a great value if you can get it for $10.00

With some luck you might be able to wash that $10.00 if the Bitcoin moves in your favor.

My bnk charges $30.00 just found that out.

I still think Gemini is the best when purchasing coins... no one even comes close.

Ive never used a wallet and always did book to coinbase and vice versa, never any issues, my buy/sell limits have increased as a result of me using it so much, im pretty sure they have other things to worry about besides if someone is possibly using them for gambling, this isnt p2p where it got suspicious after awhile sending and getting money from some random country all the time, with books using diffirent addresses each time im sure its not easy to try and track where its coming from

read about how the blockchain works. One hop is not enough I would do a few hops personally and I would never pay a fee to CB I would just use their market and save the fees!

Just google coinbase freezes/bans account... They are still happening and always will.

The fees you save from not going blockchain first is literally 6 CENTS.

Don't be a moron never directly send anything to or from coinbase from a source that they deem inappropriate. Not worth losing your account and control of your funds for 6 CENTS.

(I just sent btc with priority fee for 5 cents.)

A successful punter knows whats a good risk to reward ratio and when to take a chance. Saving a dollar or even cents in transfer, for the convenience risk shows which category you fall under.
