Quick explanation is pinned at top of this sub forum

Have a look then let me know what specifically you are wanting to do in terms of number and size of transfers and what is most important to you out of simplicity, speed, fees, privacy and security. And I'll try to give you readers digest instructions on what you need.

Thanks, Optional. That was helpful. I guess what I don't fully understand is that the tutor lady says bitcoin is similar to a dollar bill, with it's code and all. But I can bury my bills in my backyard and feel pretty safe they are still there. With bitcoin it all seems like I'm just one good hacker away from totally being robbed. Is this not the case?

Not really. And you can actually print out your bitcoin wallet to paper and bury it in the backyard the same way btw.

It is very like cash but honestly don't get bogged down in conceptualizing it or trying to understand every aspect.

If you use an online wallet you can be hacked just like Paypal or any other wallet service you use online. But how often do you hear of that happening? If you need 100% security for large amounts to keep offline, then you can buy hardware cold storage wallets designed for the purpose. But if you are talking about moving money in and out of books, you aren't holding bitcoin for long and honestly hacking is a very low concern.

Anyway, if you want some help just tell me what you are wanting to do and I can give you specifics of the best way to handle it. Not here to sell you on bitcoin if you dont want to use it.

Do you want to use bitcoin for gambling or invest in it?

If you want to use it for gambling, you just have to figure out how to buy and send it. Don't really have to worry about it getting stolen.

If you are going to buy it as an investment, it can get stolen by hackers although it is not all that likely.
