u will just lose statistically more that way as u have more on the table in a negative expectation game...lose more per unit time than just doing a single $5 wager that is all..it costs you does not minimize your costs...but with this ending in 1 minute or less (figure 100 people start seriously doing this at midnight) it really will not matter u will either win a bit or lose a bit or be the lucky first person.....

If you only bet one side 38 possible outcomes, 2 of them (0 and 00) make you lose $5, so 2/38 or 1/19 is the probability of losing $5. So on each spin you lose an average of 5*(1/19) = $0.2632 so about a quarter per spin. Let's say you spin 38 times on average every number hits once so you will lose 0.26328*38 = $10 so for every 38 spins you lose $10

If you bet both sides 38 possible outcomes, 2 of them (0 and 00) make you lose $10, so 2/38 or 1/19 is the probability of losing $10. So on each spin you lose an average of 10*(1/19) = $0.5263 so about a 2 quarters per spin. Let's say you spin 38 times on average every number hits once so you will lose 0.5263*38 = $20 so for every 38 spins you lose $20

So like try*3 said earlier, you double the amount you are risking in a negative expectation game, you double your expected.

Betting both sides is similar to using a martingale strategy in that it will result in less losing sessions but when the losing sessions occur they are very big. So considering the fact that you'll probably have to spin the wheel about 300 times (assuming any combination of 0 or 00 is a win, waiting on Lou to clarify that), or about 1,300 times (if it has to be 0 and then 0, or 00 and then 00) I recommend you only bet one side.

Then again there are people in life that don't give a fock about math so everyone should do whatever they want.
