It seems like games this season are more of a tossup with crazy stuff happening on the field. 2 Sundays ago when the Bucs played the Falcons there was 22 seconds remaining. Falcons were up by 1 and had the ball at the TBay 35 -- 4th down.

They have 2 options, try to kick a 52 yarder that will take 5 seconds off the clock or,
Punt the ball which will take 9 seconds off the clock and pin them at their own 10 with 13 seconds remaining.

Tampa didn't have any timeouts remaining either so I figured it was an obvious punt. Nope, they kick the FG and miss..... 17 seconds left and they only need to move the ball 25 yards for a field goal attempt. Thankfully on the first play they only gained about 3 yards before getting out of bounds and then threw a couple incompletions with a hail mary that reached the endzone. I still could not for the life of me figure out why they didn't punt..... at the very worst the ball would be at the 20...

Even if they made the field goal they still have to kick off which can always lead to huge returns (such as last nights game when Dallas punted). Last night if the Dallas punter would have just kicked it sky high and forced a fair catch 35 yards from the line of scrimmage it was pretty much game over too. The punter could have kicked it out of bounds 20 yards from the line of scrimmage but nope, tries to kick it a mile, causing the coverage team to be too far spread out hence allowing a huge return.

I swear, logic fails so hard in the NFL sometimes.

Oh well, on to another game. BOL tonight.

This game is all about turnovers and special teams. Always good for Overs.

Obviously I am tanking right now and need to go on a hot streak.

With loaning and everything I am starting to see the value in having points available.

I will probably start betting very selectively on marquee NFL and bowl games. This in mind our contest probably won't end for at least another month.

Right now I am willing to give up 1750 of the original 2000.

So yis will send you 1750 and myself 250.

    Offer is on the table.

    an interesting offer.

i am pretty sure i have already settled up with yisman so the 250 would come out of my pocket. "true odds" are .044x5000 or 220 points.

if i were you i would try for a winning streak, but i'm a long-shot gambler by nature.

i have no problem paying a little extra (how about 240 since i love to haggle?) but i don't have the points right now. i am going to owe 250 on another bowl entry, and i have those side bets going tonight.

so i'm happy saying i'll owe you the 240. could be paid tonight, could be a week or two down the road, depending.

I guess I've lost my drive for this contest and with how I'm betting now at betfair (laying both sides) or taking odds as soon as there is serious line movement (I got a $140 free play on Miami vs San Antonio) and others as well..... so I'm not really capping at all. Just watching lines and picking spots to buy and then sell.

It's profitable but if you miss a line movement and have odds layed then someone else will take that and you're going to have to sell at a lower price and take a loss.

Right now I already have a whopping $6.42 freeplay on New England but before kickoff I'm hoping to have at least $50 on either side. No risk, just bank $50. I'm growing my roll and learning more and more all the time. Also, making sure when games start (especially NBA) not to have any one way bets, e.g., Toronto ML for $1000 with a potential loss of $750..... it's sometimes taking a small loss before the game starts to prevent a larger loss.

So after this long boring speech I will accept your counter offer of 240. It was fun at the start but I realize I am no all-star and just average at best.

hels you are a class act all the way, and seem like a great guy. wish i had the availability of a bet fair or even neteller like the good old days back in the usa.

even though i turned a profit in the contest, no way would i do it again. if everyone's record was flip-flopped i would've lost 3 of the 5 and been buried for 5000 points. i'm a math guy but in the short run math sometimes doesn't matter and as you proved big streaks usually happen quite a bit more frequently than the math would justify.

just like me cashing 14 of the last 15 days in sbr poker, makes no sense at all when i had only cashed 16 times before that.

cheers and beers and i'll pay you the 240 in this thread
