    Tuesday Value Plays

    I went 1-1 +0.37 units. I don't have time for a write up today.

    Twins -109

    That's all for now.

I saw the Twinkies at even.
Perkins has been getting hit, little more than Durcey, recently. Durcey threw a complete game, 1-0 loss. Durcey got 11 strikeouts in a losing effort, after giving up a solo shot. However, Perkins has won the last 4, by getting nice run support. I'm staying away from this one. The under might be a consideration, though.

the twins and jays remind me a lot of each other
obviously tor has better pitching and the twins have better hitting and defense
but these are teams with two huge bats batting 3rd and 4th
i think the twins are up to even now, and i like that as my only pikc today

    gl fifa

I don't know why people are going for 50/50 games when the Angels (-127) and White Sox (-118) have winnable games tonight.

Purcey is beginning to pitch like a beast. Since the Blue Jays don't normally score much, the Under appears the best play here.

    These may all cash tonight:
    Angels
    White Sox
    Twins/Jays Under 8.5
    Phillies/Nats Over 7.5
    Red Sox RL
Mets (the Brewers are sweepable by hard-hitting teams).
    Yankees (Mussina owns the Rays).

    I agree with you.
Jays and Under may cash here. Jays pitch better but don't score much. I won't be surprised if this ends with less than 4 runs.

    Ryan,

KC? The A's own KC. A's ranks high in my hierarchy of probable underdog wins tonight.
The probable underdog wins tonight include:
A's, Yankees, Mets, Jays, and Mariners.

If the Cubs are done for the season, they may as well decide not to score a single run tonight as they did yesterday! So that may be one huge upset.

the a's dont own kc, actually greinke owns the a's
oakland doesnt win road games , has an awful rookie pitcher, and greinke, again, comp, letely owns oak
in fact i dont think he has ever lost to them

The Greinke/A's stats makes the A's all the more a very probable upset. If Greinke is like 8-0 against the A's, then expect an upset today. Believe me.

i mean, you can use stats anyway you like
you can say webbs next start will be great bc the last 2 are bad, or you can say he has been bad lately so the next will be bad

greinke is at home, the a's are bad, their starter is bad

    kc wins
    lock it up

But stats have a cynical way of working. No trend can continue forever!
Something often seems to go wrong after the 8-0 mark!

I don't think either of those plays are solid. The Angels are sending Saunders, who has struggled lately, to the mound. He is also facing an offense that feasts on lefties. Danks may be good, but he is facing Carmona and a Cleveland team that plays well at home. Do you really and to trust Niese?

As much as I want to take the Yanks in this spot since they are my hometown team, this is far from a lock. Moose is good, but Garza is a beast at home. I think the value is on the Ray's side. Go yanks!!

He's not. But the Yanks are a tough play in this spot. As much as I want to say that the Yanks are a great play, I can't because there is an equally good pitcher opposing him who is at home.

The Twins could sweep the BJs, or take two of three. I think they play really well on turf, which is evidenced by their awesome home record

BA in domes: .287 for the twins.

Let's hope they can get at least 1 more run.

    fifa,

Think you are a Yanks fan, what is your opinion on Joba next year, relief or rotation? or wait and see who they add for starting pitching?

Any Yankee or Non-Yankee fan will tell you that Joba is a definite for the rotation. If he hasn't proven anything this year, then I don't know who has. I am never 100% sure on the Yanks next moves. I did profit from Girardi being selected as the manager over Mattingly. That was an easy call at 15/2 odds on bodog.

Mussina and Pettitte are question marks. Moose may come back next year, but it would only be a short term contract since he is 40. If moose does not return in pinstripes, im pretty sure he would retire. As for Pettitte, I'm pretty sure he will return. He like Mo wants to pitch in the new stadium. I highly doubt Pavano will be re-signed given his injury history. Even if he has an amazing september, the Yanks do not want to make the same mistake twice. In fact, he is on waivers right now so any team can trade for him if they please.

These are the possible options for next years starting 5:
Wang, Pettitte, Moose, Joba, Hughes/Kennedy/Offseason Acquisition
    Wang, Pettitte, Acquisition, Joba, Hughes/Kennedy

Of the '09 free agents, I am pretty sure the Yankees will get CC Sabathia. I knew someone who worked with Cashman and they were pursuing Sabathia heavily back in the winter. That plus the fact that Steinbrenner wants to "insure" a postseason berth for next season make Sabathia the likely choice.

The Twins are money in this game huh?? Good thing I played Toronto. I had a feeling the Twins would cough it up by the 5th inning. I was correct..
