Yesterday was another disappointing day, 1-3 -2.07 units. I'm gonna stick to more conservative plays today to get back on track.

Angels -119
Pros: The Angels hit lefties well and actually have an offense, which is an advantage against the A's. Ervin Santana is 8-1 in his career versus the A's and looks to continue his dominance against them. Eveland is very overrated.

Cons: The A's have a good bullpen.

Twins +102
Pros: Scott Baker is arguably the Twin's best pitcher. He is opposing Nate Robertson, who has struggled in 3 appearances versus the Twins this season. Scott Baker has had success against the Tigers in his career. The Twins have the better bullpen.

Cons: Detroit's offense can heat up.

Nationals +110
Pros: Wandy Rodriguez has been struggling lately. The Astros have lost 7 of his last 9 starts. He is also not as good away from home, posting a 4.05 ERA. In his only start against the Nationals last season on Aug. 21, Rodriguez was tagged for seven runs and six hits in 5 1-3 innings of an 11-6 loss. The left-hander is 2-1 with a 5.34 ERA in five career starts versus Washington. Balester was good in his first outing, but got tagged for 5 runs in 5.2 innings in Cincinnati. This kid has some good stuff and will rebound against this sputtering Astros team. Normally, I would pass on the Nats, but guys like Austin Kearns make their careers when facing this team.

Cons: The Nats suck.
