Basically when the home team hits a home run to win the game...ex would be down 1 in the bottom of the 9th and they hit a 2-run homer.

It's a game-winning homer. In other words, after it's hit both teams "walk off" the filed cause the game's over. It can only happen in the 9th or extra innings.

Anything in the bottom of the 9th or later innings, that wins the game is considered a walk off.
