Is Tim Hudson your NL Cy Young frontrunner now?

I think he is...He been red hot over the past month, where halladay has lost his last 2 starts and wainwright has lost his last 3...Who do you think is frontrunner and who you like to win? Im going Hudson on both..

Tough call, very close. You could certainly make a pretty good argument for Huddy, but right now I would have to give the edge to Halladay. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Huddy end up winning it though if he can keep pitching the way he has in his last eight starts or so.

still wide open race, but hudson deserves more credit than he is getting b/c he has been red hot, while other contenders are faltering..

No way hudson is the front runner for the Cy young right now - maybe player of the month for august, but the Cy is for the whole year.

Halladay, Wainwright and Johnson are still ahead of him.

Halladay has basically the same ERA, but has pitched about 17% more innings registered almost twice as many strike outs and half as many walks.

Wainwright has about the slightly more IP and K'd 70 more batters and walked less,

Even Johnson, who has a bit fewer innings, has over 70 more Ks and less walks -

Latos may even be better but has pitched far fewer innings.

The massive difference in the K and walks isnt enough to make up for the minor difference in ERA and HR rate

I know this much---I don't think he is better than Halladay.

Hallday more IP, more W, more K's lower WHIP.

    Halladay 16-10, 214 IP, 2.27 ERA, 190K, 1.04 WHIP
    Hudson 15-5, 184 IP, 2.24 ERA, 109K, 1.09 WHIP

    Other stats...

    Halladay 28 starts, 214 IP
    Hudson 27 starts, 184 IP

In Halladay's 28 starts, he failed to make it to the 7th inning only 3 times.
In Hudson's 27 starts, he failed to make it to the 7th inning 9 times.

Halladay never once lasted fewer than 5 innings.
Hudson lasted fewer than 5 innings just once.

You guys decide, who is having the better season?

No other pitcher has been more consistent than him the whole year. Probably won't get it, but I'll take him every time on my team. He can swing the bat too.

Seems he is making a late charge. All the other contenders aren't doing much lately are they?

What does 'when it matters' have to do with the whole season, Again the Cy Young award is for the pitcher who pitched the best the entire season; and as of right now Hudson isn't having a better season the Johnson, Halladay or Wainright.
