With the 160 game schedule, Baseball seems to have the most variance in terms of results. Football and Basketball are much easier to cap because of shorter schedules. What do you guys think?

Not at all, but due to the 160 game schedule, as you mention, you're definitely going to have variance. Bankroll management might be more important in bases than any other sport...JMHO

In NFL, you have 16 games in a season...so teams play their best in every game. You will never see a team like Rams beating a team like Saints four games in a row in NFL or a team like Nets beating Lakers four games in a row in NBA. But guess what??...it happens in MLB where a team like Astros beat a team like Phillies four games in a row at HOME...Baseball is way too unpredictable IMHO.

MLB is just the most draining. Its double digit bet options a night, 7 nights a week. The ultimate grind.

Definitely alot more thought goes into it then the other sports. Baseball you have new pitchers every day for every team, theres line up changes and the list goes on. Just alot more to keep up with. You also have alot more juice on the lines to consider when basketball and football is more point spreads.

Why does everyone keep saying that the phillies are soooooo much better than the astros. The Astros have been playing better than the phillies for roughly 70 games

Before the series started would I have predicted a 4 game sweep by the Astros?? no way. But there was certainly value in playing the former colt 45's based on their records lately.

I agree with most in this thread. Baseball is all about money management and poise. You can't let yourself bet on too many games in a night. If you focus on a few games and cap them thoroughly, and from that pick 2 or so a night, you can make money. Its about picking your spots.

Good points. The NFL lines and NBA lines are much sharper though. The problem in baseball is the amount of games available on a daily basis.Public loses loads in NFL on teasers as well.

It can be tough, vyomguy. One swing of the bat can change the whole game. Middle relief matchups, last-minute lineup changes, umpires, wind - you name it, and it's a factor that can make capping go out the window fast.

Need really good money management with baseball - got to grind out the bucks with lots of plays over the whole season.

My theory goes like this...The smaller the ball, the more homework you have to do. Everything is about "space." And in baseball, you have a 9" little ball flying around a space of approximately 200,000 sq ft at 100+ mph! Compare that to the dimensions of a football field (roughly 58,000 sq ft) or a basketball court (only about 4,800 sq ft), AND compare the speed at which the ball travels in each, and you can see the difficulty in capping bases. However, all the space only means that there's a bigger variance, or opportunity shall we say for good cappers to make a profit by doing their homework. Okay, so with that you might draw the conclusion that baseball is the toughest to capp, which contradicts my first response. This isn't the case at all. It just means that for those that don't do their homework, baseball is definitely going to seem unbeatable. Like many have mentioned, it's a grind. A lot of people don't have the patience to grind it out every day and do their due diligence. The lines aren't quite as "sharp," from the books standpoint, as say the NFL, thus there's a great opportunity for the diligent ones to make a nice profit in bases.

MLB is the easiest... NBA is the hardest! NCAAB s is next easiest after MLB. NFL and NCAAF are about the same and somewhere in between MLB and NBA. I really don't understand how the bookies can get such accurate lines in NBA! seems like every game goes down to the last couple of freethrows for the point spread and the O/U!
