Are the 3 best teams in the AL East?

Noone cares about anyone but NYY, Boston, and Tampa Bay.

All other teams are there to make these teams successful.

Don't try telling me ATL or Texas can win the WS this year, it's more than a longshot.

What is your criteria for a team to be among the best?

If one were to go strictly by the current win/loss % record, then as of right now, the top three teams are:

    Yankees (.613)
    Rays (.613)
    Padres (.602)

The Twins, Rangers, Braves, Phillies, and Reds are also up there record-wise, and so also among the best along with the Red Sox.

So, I guess it depends on how you define the best teams. Record-wise seems the easiest and most obvious way to tell, though the record can sometimes be very deceiving. For example, the Red Sox are probably a whole lot better than say the Reds because of their respective divisions, since the AL East is a whole lot tougher than the NL Central.

I rate them on overall dominance, I would much rather play against SD, ATL, MINNY at this point in the season. Only reason the sox aren't up there is because of injuries and pitching issues, which are being resolved.
