Anyone here think MLB should break up the AL East?

You have the Yankees, Rays and Red Sox in the same division and only 2 of these teams at most will make the postseason even though they are easily the 3 best teams in the AL. These are usually the 3 of the 5 best teams in baseball the last few years. Every single year its always been the AL champion and the Wild Card Team from this division. At the moment they are 1, 2 and 3 in terms of record wise in the AL with Texas having the 4th best record at the moment in the AL. But of course one of them won't make the postseason and this team probably have a better record than the AL central champion.

They should take one team and put them in another division or league. Look at the NL. If you put Boston in the NL, they would just be 0.5 game back behind 1st place in the NL and probably have the best record in the NL at the end of the year. The NL West and AL West are just pathetic divisions. If you put the Rays or Red Sox in that division, they more than likely would win the division.

Anyone here thinks its horrible when you see Yankees vs Red Sox or Yankees vs Rays in the AL Championship game and then having that team play a pathetic NL team for the World Series Title? Yankees vs Red Sox or Yankees vs Rays SHOULD be the world series matchup. They are undoubtedly the best teams in baseball. The phillies, braves and cardinals would probably lose to all of these 3 AL teams if they had to play in a 7 game world series more often than not.

They're the 3 best teams in the league,

    1 Yankees
    2 Boston
    3 TB

AL East will straight up blow your joint out. Toronto is .500, and Baltimore seems like they're no longer the laughing stock.

The NL West and AL West are just pathetic divisions.
As far as the NL West, as of right now, they actually have the best season winning ratio in the NL at 52%. The worst division, or the most pathetic division, in the NL is the Central division, with a season winning ratio of only 46%.

Thats the idea, to have division races, if we just made every division have a clear cutt winner every yr, that would defeat the purpose. The sox were shit for yrs (never winning anything) and TB has only been a team for 10 or 12 yrs, calm down on realignment

You think anyone would want to play the Yanks and Sox more? The Rays have been incredibly fortunate with the trades they've made and their development. After this year they might be in trouble. No Carl Crawford, No Carlos Pena and nobody other than Desmond Jennings in their Farm System. The unfairness comes from having to play your division 18-20 times. In a 7 game series you can get lucky and win see the cardinals from a couple years ago but when you play 162 and so many vs. teams with huge payrolls that fluky wins mean nothing.
Baseball is steeped in tradition...not much will change.
The O's, Jays, Rays are just out of luck.... you really think the twins and rangers want to play those teams more?

    yankees/redsox will never split up

all teams go through cycles, in a few years maybe only 1 of them will be in the top 3 AL teams
