What we've learned the past few days

Texas and Cincinnati are posers. Paper champions. Fool's gold.

Let's keep in mind that the Rangers are playing the Yankees. The Yankees have the highest payroll. It's safe to say that they have the most talents comparing to any team. When betting against them, one have to be willing to accept taking a lost first.

If I had been on the Yankees tonight this Thames guy woulda gone 0-5 and grounded into 3 double plays. But since I had Texas this guy hits like Joe Dimaggio.

I said this in another thread: Texas' kryptonite tonight was Lee not lasting as long as he typically does. Rangers' bullpen was toast from last night. They needed Lee to go 7 minimum, if not 8.

When Lee left, I wish my book had offered a live bet because I would have hammered the Yankees. It was a done deal at that point, given what happened the night before.

Did you have a wager on that game, shoe?

I need to get a book with better live betting.

    Pretty solid day, eh?

Do you play FF? I seriously considered going with TEX FF instead of ballgame given how last night's game transpired, but I'm crying over spilled milk at this point.

think youre overreacting buddy...they def. made poor showings, but it is still only early august, not september...and u have to remember that both teams u mentioned (reds, rangers) have very little pennant race experience, while the people they "choked" to (cards, yanks) have tons of pennant race experience...granted, these were big series for these teams, but by no means do or die...

i think the reds and cards will go down to the wire...i hope the reds take it, but thats just cuz i hate the cards haha...rangers have the west locked up- experience or not, i would NOT want to play them in a playoff series...SOLID lineup, decent bullpen (perez and francisco may be a little overworked at this pt, so thats a concern), very good starting pitching, starting w/ one of 5 guys u would NOT want to see in a short series...should be interesting either way...

I don't know about the offer when Texas at 6-1.
I have Texas -1 for whole game, but when Texas up 3-1, 5dimes offered Yanks +500, I took 1/5 of my original bet for insurance; Turn out that was a saver for the night.
I didn't watch the game after that, but if I saw it I would throw a small bet on Yanks when they are down 6-1, I think payout not less than +1200 or more. Yanks bats often wake up in 8 or 9 innings.

I've learned that if the Orioles had hired their current manager early enough they could have been a legit contender!

The Rangers blew it big time, last night! That is terrible, can't get a runner in from 3rd with 0 outs.

I think that the old CK angle is strong....tail a team in the 2nd game off the streak buster....only if it is a decent team.....worked a lot this past month
