Won earlier with the Marlins at a nice price. Let's keep it going. We got 2 of the worst teams in the MLB in the Orioles and Royals playing tonight at Kauffman Stadium. Orioles start Brian Matusz who has been anything but terrific this year. He is 3-11 on the year with a 5.22 ERA. His last 3 starts have been miserable. He is 0-2 with a humongous 12.10 ERA. He has only managed to pitch 9 innings in 3 starts and in those 9 innings he has given up 17 hits, 3 of which left the ballpark, 13 runs and 9 walks. Not exactly Cy Young numbers if ya feel me. The Royals counter with Kyle Davies who is 5-6 on the year with a 5.52 ERA. Only 1 of Davies wins have come at Kauffman Stadium this year. He is 1-4 in home starts with a 5.11 ERA in 44 innings pitched. He has given up 48 hits, 26 runs, and 5 long balls at home this year. He did just beat the Yankees in a 7-4 win in New York last week, but he still managed to give up 4 runs in 5.1 innings. I have no info on the umpire in this one so that might turn you off of this play, but I think the match ups should cash this ticket.
Matusz is a lefty, and I'm sure the Royals are happy to see him. Royals are hitting way better against lefties rather than righties this year. They are batting .280 overall and .297 last 10 against left-handed starters. It's a little stormy in KC right now, and the wind is howling at 18mph SSE, so the wind is blowing out to left tonight. I think we are going to see some long balls in this one folks. Royals haven't won in a forever, and I'm sure they think tonight is a great spot. Royals were just roughed up by the Twins and their offense was doormat. I expect them to break out tonight. And even though the Orioles are like a Triple A squad, I expect them to put up some numbers tonight as well. Both of these teams bullpens are just terrible. Orioles bullpen ERA is 5.61 in last 3 games and the Royals are even worse at 8.25. Surprisingly, I see the consensus is actually on the under in this one and I'm really not sure why. I'm backing the over boys at even money, I expect some runs in the battle of the worst. Fade or play, best of luck.
