    Karstens isn't that bad and Pittsburgh isn't exactly the worst team in baseball, either. It's crazy enough that this is -200, but it's also -200 for a sub-.500 team with a starter who will probably only go 5, maybe 6 innings and Matt Crapps as the closer.

    If you take the Washington ML here, you are the square of all squares. This may be the worst value bet I've ever seen.

    I think Strasberg is WAY overpriced for his first big league start. He may very well be the next big thing but he hasn't proved anything yet and until he does I don't think it's financially prudent to start laying lumber with him.

    Plus I don't think the Pirates will just roll over and play dead. Most big leaguers don't like being upstaged by a rookie if they can help it.

    I was anticipating this game for a long time. I wanted to play Strasburg and the Nats but after looking at that ML... ...not a chance. No deal! They can keep their -200 price.

    I know this has NOTHING to do with this game BUT I was at Linsecum's first MLB start and he did not fare well vs My Phillies and the Giants were the home team.
    As soon as I saw this game I bet on Pittsburgh JUST BECAUSE... I don't think the Pirates are playing that badly and they should have enough professional pride to wanna beat this kid in his 1st start in the bigs. Once his pitch count is completed, the Nats are still the Nats also. Pirates and Under for me.

    Lincecum is not the same as this guy. Strasburg is much more dominant with his fastball and at this stage has more talent. Lincecum is a better pitcher because he knows how to pitch in the big leagues. Strasburg has more hype too so that is factored in the line. Now that all being said the fact that he is -200 is comical and anyone laying that juice in ANY mlb game just doesn't get it. $10 for fun maybe but anything is stupid.

    this is way to much juice for a 1st start. there will be some squares who bet it tho, and even some whotake the run line. Im staying away completely, but Pit would be the play if you had to take a side.
