    Cole signs with the Yankees

Record 9 year, 324 million dollar deal.
Makes the NY Yankees the clear front runners to win the AL Championship.

Douche bag goes to the ultimate douche team, fitting. Couldn’t win the other way so they keep adding more and more huge contracts. Hope they all get hurt.

Yanks will regret this deal in a few years. This might get them a title but it will be painful later. No player who plays every 5 days is worth big bucks

So he's going to earn about a mil per start?

    Not a bad payday.

Agreed, no starter is worth a nine year deal.
If you think about it not many long term free agent pitcher signing in the past have panned out with the exceptions being Greg Maddox, Randy Johnson, Clemens, Mussina, and a few others.
Relief free agent pitcher signings have never panned out either long term.

Cole more than likely will begin to flame out I figure around year five or six of that deal so in order for that signing to payoff the Yankees had better win their division at least four times in his first five seasons and reach the World Series twice.

Yankees have an opt out after 5 years .
Cole will be nasty their especially wth that bullpen. Yanks rotation looks very good now wth Cole slotted in as the ace

Between Stanton and Cole, I feel like the yankees have to win at least two world series, with them, to feel like it was worth the money they are throwing at them.

1 world series win in the last 19 years is pathetic really for a huge brand team like the yankees.

Rarely is an understatement, the Yankee biggest issue is Judge and Stanton too easy strike outs daily back to back

Rally killers but pitching can offset that of course

Stanton won't be on the Roster much longer. Judge will because he puts asses in the seats and sells merchandise. Wouldn't be surprised if they move on from Gary Sanchez and sign a big bat. Tired of seeing him whiff on everything in the playoffs. pads his stats against the Orioles in July which is pointless in my opinion.

i am a yankee fan and like getting cole but not for 9 years. would rather have gotten him for like 200 for 5 years (overpay for shorter term) but i am sure cole wanted security.

we have too many hitters that do not hit for average. hard to manufacture runs that way in the playoffs.
