I wonder what the terms are? How much guaranteed? How many options years and who has the options.
Will need to find the details.

What a bad deal for the Yankees. It will be great for a few years but then???? It will be impossible to dump a guaranteed contract (if it is guaranteed) to another team later.

we have too many hitters that do not hit for average. hard to manufacture runs that way in the playoffs.
hoping he opts out after 5.

its baseball... all GTD.... player option after 5th year, no trade clause.

not a bad deal. Owners bring the whole payroll hit home with concessions alone, then throw in the revenue sharing... its a no brainer.

Cole will be nasty their especially wth that bullpen. Yanks rotation looks very good now wth Cole slotted in as the ace
The pact includes a full no-trade clause, according to Feinsand, and establishes new high marks in terms of total contract value for a free-agent starting pitcher and average annual value for any free agent ($36 million per year). Cole's deal surpasses the seven-year, $245 million agreement that right-hander Stephen Strasburg signed with the Nationals on Monday. Cole can opt out after the fifth year of the deal, per Feinsand.

In NY you’re considered gay if a man likes women more than baseball.

Mostly all the greatest players in MLB history, get their start in Pittsburgh...

The cheap assed pirates org./owner always draft great players but never pay them
enough to keep em sticking around!!

Fukkin owner has no interests in winning as long as the stupid assclown
Pirate fans keep buying tickets ......

Owner draws the fans in with free shit from bobble head dolls to food to
Zambelli fireworks (best in the US) to bring your own pets night to you name it.....
Pirates PNC park always a draw as it's the best park in all of baseball
as people will come from miles around just for experience.....

Many not fans of baseball as they could give two fukks about the Pirates.............
I could give two fukks about the pirates as well........

But I love to watch baseball when I'm winning my bet or parlay leg
as this experience makes me a huge baseball fan.........

Take away the betting and I'll never watch a game for the rest of my life.......

Pirates shitshow owner needs a hostile takeover by the Rooney family!!!!

Pirates would be in the World Series within 3 years.......

    So fukk Garret Cole.........
Hope he and Tommy John become joined
at the hip, best friends for life...............

Whoa,15 words on Cole and uh 150? word biography on
scattered thoughts of unjust of the Pirates since 1979!!
    40 fukkin years ago!!!

Great MLB players the Pirates could have had in the draft but got away.

    Roy Halladay
    Clayton Kershaw
Brad Lidge (they chose Clint Johnston)
    Buster Posey
    Prince Fielder
    David Wright
    Jason Heyward
