The Brewers will be sending young lefty to the mound in Brent Suter. Suter comes into this game after logging a healthy 21 ST training innings where he posted a 4.57 era while walking just 5 and striking out 25. The extra ST workload should fare well for Suter in his season opener after only logging 9 ST innings in 2017. Suter will be facing a Padres offense which went 40-49 against LHP in 2017 and who's current lineup only has a combined 6 ABs against Suter. Suter also shows another positive which holds value as a young SP. In 2017, Suter posted a 3.46 overall era while allowing 8 HR through 70 IP...but on the road his era dropped to a 3.23 era where he allowed just 2 HR through 30 innings of work. This plays well for Suter going to a pitcher friendly park in Petco against a lineup fighting a sweep that has never seen him. The Padres will be sending Luis Perdomo to toe the slab in his season opener. Perdomo posted a below average 5.74 era through 15 ST innings while allowing 3 HRs on 8 BBs and striking out 15. Looking at Perdomo's 2017 numbers...his era actually rose at home to 4.83 where he allowed 5 HRs. In Perdomo's two outings against the Brewers in 2017, he allowed a combined 5 ERs through 12 innings on 13 hits and 3 HRs. This current Brewers lineup has a combined 65 ABs off of Perdomo in which they post a very respectable combined .354 BA/.425 OBP with 4 HRs against Perdomo. Expecting a Brewers sweep here.
