    Sportsbook mistake question

I noticed at 5dimes that for about 5 minutes they reversed the moneyline on the PIT/CIN game and I was able to get Cincy at +167, which is obviously a mistake. But I decided, what the hell, why not take a chance that they don't catch it.

Well, of course, CIN is already down 4-0 in the 1st. Do you guys think they're gonna cancel these bets (I have to assume I'm not the only one who saw this) or because Cincy is going to most likely lose are they going to allow them?

I guess I probably am getting what I deserve. Bad karma.

Right, this is exactly why you shouldn't do those things, because it leaves it completely in their hands as to what to do. If the industry were more regulated, you still wouldn't be able to profit from mistakes like that, but you'd have less of a chance of getting screwed back if you tried to take advantage of a mistake.

A place like Pinnacle, yes they would have already cancelled the bet. It would have happened before the game started. But 5Dimes, they have a very clear rep for being the kind of place where if you try to pull a fast one on them rules-wise, they will then actually pull a fast one on you rules-wise, and leave you to go post on the forum asking what you should do.

They may still cancel it, but consider yourself lucky if they do. If Cincinnati wins, it will definitely get cancelled. If Pitt wins, I bet you it doesn't. I really hope Pitt wins now, not just because I have money on them, but because I am curious to see what 5Dimes will do about the bet.

    Let us know what happens.

They cancelled it. Good thing. Note to self -- do not try this again.
