    Price now a reliever

The Blue Jays need this so badly Price is pitching in mid-relief. What do you make of this?

Any blue jays fan is more comfortable having Stroman in a game 5 than price. I think price will also be available in the pen for game 5.

Out of all the Jays pitchers in the roster price has the worst career numbers against Texas. There is no way gibbons or any coach in right mind would start him for game 5. The only reason Price came in was to keep him tuned when the starts for the next series. Price's worst team is Texas....his era is over 5 and his whip is over 1.4 against texas and this is on a big sample size...over 60 innings!

If i am gibbons i would start Dickey again for 3 innings to go through the line up then bring in Stroman. Dickey is a knuckle baller and he should have no problem going in back to back.....if he pitches dickey and brings in stroman to finish out the last 7 or 6 innings, texas swing will be messed up and with the Dickey effect because dickey throws knuckle ball in the 60's and stroman throws mid to high 90's two seamer.

stroman is a fastball pitcher and the rangers feast off fastball pitchers (much like the jays). rangers will be sending out gallardo as the jays' kryptonite

Get your facts straight before posting on here. Stroman vs hammels.. You'd think you'd know the starting pitcher ..

Stroman was fine in Game 2 though, he has great stuff no matter the opponent. He has very nice career numbers overall, it is shame he missed almost a year but he may have come back just in time.

so wait they traded away everything for this rental and they are gonna use him as a reliever? kershaw has TERRIBLE numbers in the playoffs also but you dont see the dodgers putting him the bullpen. Shilling made a great point last night also so what are you telling dickey now you cant trust him with a 6 RUN LEAD now hes gonna be looking over his shoulder now everytime and he pitches and knowing the manager doesnt have confidence in him

Stroman has good stuff but its not like he pitched that well in his 1st start either. It would of been better if for game 5 you had your 2 better pitchers ready instead of just 1

He actually pitched VERY well after slow start that included unearned run in second, was actually unhittable from second inning until leadoff single in eighth inning when he was pulled.

One bad first inning (partly due to butterflies) followed by six dominant innings does does not equate to "not pitching well".

one bad inning is all you need look at kershaw in gm1 he gave up a hr in the 2nd inning and that basically was the game because mattingly took him out of the 7th

But still does not define "not pitching well" overall. More like unlucky due to lack of run support.

smart move. Great pitcher, does not seems comfy right at the moment in the Ace Starter slot.
so let somebody else drive that. and bring him in to extend a good start by another guy.
Like yesterday. Whatever works. Get the 'W'

disagree. He just wants to win. He did very well in the Reg season to put them in the possession they
are in now. he was not stepped over. I am sure he appreciated the move.

Well, he didn't exactly shut them down in relief either. What did he give up , like 3 runs??? Without looking it up, just from what I read.
