Disagree. I feel it was quite the opposite.
Had one of his best years, and this contract is more than he deserved.
He was an overacheiver on a team with an insane offense for years. He will be .500 for the Cubs in all likelihood.
I'm not saying he's awful, he's definitely a solid pitcher, but will be interesting to see how his numbers alter now being on a shitty team.
But MLB is all about overpaying guys for one big year right now.
It's a trend that has not fared well for most teams.
I think the only contract I have seen so far this off-season who didn't get overpaid was Stanton. He was worth and will be worth every penny.
