    Scherzer has a 5.17 ERA at home.

    Fausto is a gascan with a 5.23 ERA on the road.

    Both have ERAs over 5 in limited day action.

    Both bullpens are suspect to say the least.

    Not betting it personally, but looks good to go.

    Since no coin is insane, i'll help you guys out. 'fatso' carmona has a winning record against Detroit. fatso carmona is pitching on an extra day of rest. Detroit sucks ass in day games, tampa doesn't. scherzer has been terrible at home, just gotten tons of run support. smart money is on the under. anything can happen, but expect Detroit to lay another egg. they are a losing team in day games, with a pitcher due for some serious regression, going against a team who is above average in day games, hit righties well, is on fire for awhile now, with a rested pitcher. tampa wins 5-3.

    How is that so much different than what I've been saying in this thread, ghost?

    You act like I'm advocating a play on Detroit, which I'm not. And you're saying the game will be 5-3, which is pretty close to the 8.5 total.

    BTW genius, Detroit is 12-14 in day games with a 4.01 ERA; Tampa is 10-10 with a 4.12 ERA. Detroit ranks 2nd in the AL in day BA; Tampa is dead-last.

    FWIW, Scherzer's home ERA is slightly better than his road ERA since he moved to Comerica and Fausto's road starts have been @tex @Bal @Chw @Bal @Mia. Can't fault him for having some ugly numbers on the road this season
