    Late Pitching Changes

what is the reasoning behind so many pitcher changes late in close game esp. when the pitcher before didnt give up any runs? i see this time and time again, and have never understood what the coaches are thinking. tex/sea game a perfect example.

Educated guess would be pitch count + early in the season equals caution. Relievers need plenty of reps in situations and starters can't risk wearing out arms this early. So much pressure on coaches to win they are playing tight right now. Just my take but could be way off.

Matchups. R vs L, or a certain pitcher's numbers vs a certain hitter. Managers/coaches have tons of stats at their disposal in the dugout.
