Well, I didn't quite get the two quality starts I was looking for, but 2-0 nonetheless after both teams put up 9 runs a piece. You better have a damn good reason if you're going against Texas right now, and Joe Saunders certainly isn't a good reason.

Today, I think the hate has gone too far on the Pirates in Milwaukee. Locke has been surprisingly solid and the bullpen has been fairly leak proof. The same can not be said about the Brewers who are now without their best reliever. Also see a huge mismatch between the Braves and Mets. Regardless of how yesterday's game ends, the Braves will be out to dominate today with Minor and should be able to keep the bats going against Gee during his 6 innings (at most) and the lackluster Mets bullpen.

Back to back 2-0 days! Need to keep it rolling...

No need for explanation on the Braves... I hope. Cardinals are more of a gut feeling at this point, and with the price tag I can't refuse. Dodgers are 6-4 in Kershaw's starts this year and I can easily see Miller being the cause of loss #5. Cardinals have hit Clayton fairly hard given his skill set. Now time to get out there are grill some meat!

And that's why you go with your gut... has anybody else dare bet against Kershaw at home this year?

Giants were 0-7 before stealing 2 games in the series last year, this is a match-up where the home team goes home the victor 9 out of 10 times. With Bochy having to do some juggling on Tuesday, he may stretch some players tonight to give him more wiggle room tomorrow. Same things goes for the Cubs/White Sox. The road teams might have the better starters on paper, but the situation trumps that in my opinion as the home teams are sending out very serviceable options both coming off superb outings with high confidence.

A's get it done handily both games as expected. Glad to see the Phils back their only true ace this year while Hamels decides to kick dirt instead of throw darts.

Making some popular picks today, but I don't over think trap plays. Taking the better team with the better pitcher in my book.

My rationale for picking games is always the same. I look for teams that have a good chance to get the job done given the situation. I look at the condition of starters & bullpens, hot/cold bats, factor in some historical head to head trends, but in the end like any true handicapper I go with my gut. I don't make plays I know I'll regret should they lose because some lame system told me to, and I don't risk more that I feel a team is worth. Value only exists when there is a propensity to win.

I'm not sure I could have picked two winners yesterday with all the crazy outcomes. Days like those I'm glad I only play two games. Hopefully it all equates to a bigger bankroll come October. First let's finish off May on a high note.

Any month you finish in the black is a good month, but I'm not satisfied so looking to make June a huge month!

Today is all about momentum. Flipping sides on the Yankees after seeing CC rebound, the Yanks look poised to snag another one. Also like the Reds to keep flexing their muscles vs. the Pirates who are coming off a record month. Heading out to see some daytime action today to hopefully kickoff a great weekend!

Taking the home teams in a couple rubber matches today. I think Gausman is coming in real checp after two bad road starts to begin his young career. Tigers are not easy by any means, but he should feel much more comfortable in some friendly confines. Also like Mr. Reliable Zach McAllister today to put up another QS. I can see both Tigers and Rays each needing a few from their pens today, and that's not a good thing... well it is for me. Good Luck.

I like the Indians again today (and the under 8), but I had to take a shot at the Padres given the state of the Dodgers. I also never thought I'd see the day that Joe Saunders looked like the most attractive chalk on the board, but today he does and with little question in my mind.

Not a big fan of Sean Doolittle right now, especially after a amazing performance from Griffin. Such is baseball, and today is a new day. Garza isn't getting much respect yet as he labors back from injury and while the Royals are virtually lifeless offensively, they should at least get some solid hacks today at Walters.

Both games went into extras, a split with road teams is the best I could have hoped for. Reds have gone 1-3 w/o their cleanup bat which is going to give Wainwright some more options when working this lineup. Jimenez has regained form, and Verlander's only rough patch this year included two starts against Cleveland in which he only pitched 5 innings each time. I have to rely on past success to drive Cleveland to another victory tonight.

Well it wasn't the Tribe's night, but Valverde's late inning woes showed some of the Tigers weakness. Moving to the NL West today, where I see the Padres coming of a season high 17-hit performance now facing Francis fresh off the DL and a fatigued Rockies pen. We also have the Bumgarner/Cahill rematch from April 30th. D-backs have won every other start from Cahill, and they lost his last timeout. Put him at home against a team that has only scored 8 runs in their past 6 games, and he looks even better.

What a rollercoaster game between the Red Sox and Rays. Oddly enough Gallardo was this consistent one putting in his strongest showing of the year against the hapless Marlins. Much needed 2-0 jump start to the week. Tonight I think Wacha deserves more love that this as the Mets are just 1-10 in Hefner's starts. Also like the 'Stros to bring out some lumber tonight with Harang coming off a beating. Houston has done well vs the Mariners, and I don't believe Harangatang's got good enough stuff to turn the page that easily.

love the stl play here thats my big game for the night! only thing got me scared is line movement went from -143 to -150 now its at -137! Also the fact that METS are due! but you know whats more over due than that an STL SWEEP BABY!!! look at when the last time STL has had a sweep way over due for the best team in baseball with the best road record! Even the Marlins have had a sweep since stl's! Im riding these 3 games like a champion bull rider!!!!

Well I was wrong about Harang (or wrong for believing in the Astros), either way I'll tip my hat to the ol' vet. Cards came through like we knew they would MANIER08! I say don't worry about line movement... if you're using line movement to decide if you want to make a play or not, you've already lost in my book. In my opinion, it is by far the most superficial piece of information you can use when making a pick. Only reason I pay attention to it is because I tend to go against movement and find good value like I did with the Cards at -130!

If you're gong to take a shot against the Rangers, today is the day IMO. Big number for a guy who already helped hand Texas a loss last week. Hate to go against Samardzija but right now Latos and the Reds get my trust against any sub .500 team.

Well it wasn't easy, but Darvish goes down for a nice underdog win! Shame the Reds couldn't hold on late, but a winning day nonetheless. Another challenge in Fernandez today, but the Cardinals should be able to back Westbrook with a few runs. Also don't fear the Rockies as much with 3 of their top hitters out of the lineup, Kendrick should be able to avoid giving up a big inning.

Well I racked up a total of ZERO strikeouts in 10+ from my two starting pitchers yesterday, and I still walked away with a 1-run win and a 1-run loss. Now that might be luck, but either way that's impressive.

Today, I don't see Dickey improving his road woes in Texas. Lindblom could give up some shots, but with this lineup back to full strength, they should put on a show of their own today. Yanks are hungry for a win, and the last time they won it was with Phelps on the mound out dueling King Felix in Seattle! Despite a much better Angels lineup, Tommy Hanson is no King Felix.

Well fate reared its ugly head as Hanson threw his best start of the year and Texas let Lindblom down on his birthday by leaving 11 men on base. Good thing today is a new day and tomorrow is in the past!

Just the picks today, finally got some time to post... not a true underdog in the Sox, but for my purposes, anything under -105 is considered underdog status.

I'll be the first to admit, the White Sox were a risky bet, but in Houston is has a better chance to pay off than most places. Now the Sox are going from down south to up north, leaving the Twinkies with a prime opportunity. Sox have won 5 of Axelrod's last 6 starts and yet are 2-12 in their last 14 road games... something has to give. The number for the A's here is too big. Darvish doesn't scare me as bad when you have Parker throwing the way he has been and the never-die mentality the A's bring to most games (especially against the Rangers). I laid off them yesterday hoping Texas would win making for a nice line against Yu who is "due" for a win.

A's came out and won in true fashion, while Darvish remains "due". Twinkies were able to hold on as well making for a nice couple bounce back days after a shitty weekend. Out in the AL East today for what should be two good games. Tigers dropped 2 of 3 in Baltimore, and I can easily see them doing the same today in Detroit. Boston's line has dropped too low for me to ignore. Rays couldn't get much going yesterday, and I don't see a reason for that to change today.

Must have gotten them right when they opened. O's opened at +145 and Boston opened at -155 and has been dropping since

Got both at 5dimes... and those weren't even the reduced juice. Couple minutes after I locked in the O's dropped to +132. Rarely get lucky on 5dimes lines by waiting til morning, but I did today.

Split day, but walking away up money is a win in my book, even if it is only $17! Luckily, my underdog picks lately have really stepped it up. Dodgers just got done with a double header in NY, and now they face the red hot Padres with Marquis and his home field advantage. White Sox are looking to avoid a sweep in Minny, a place where they had won 15 of their previous 19. Scott Diamond is 2-10 in his last 12 home starts, and I could see the Sox taking out some frustration today.

The Rockies have not shown much life w/o Tulo, but Stras lost both starts against the Rocks last year. Colorado also hold the highest OPS in the NL for June. Chatwood has given them a chance to win each time he has taken the mound, and at this price I can't say no. I realize the Reds are a square play and don't hit LHP well, but there are some serious trends you can't ignore. Like the fact that the Reds are 13-3 in their last 16 in Arizona, Cuetos has taken care of business going 6-0 in his last 6 starts vs Arizona, and the Dbacks are just 2-9 in Miley's last 11 starts against a winning ball club. I'm not a huge trend guy, but I doubt anyone could convince me those are worthless trends. I'm simply picking the better team today and hoping they show up to play!

Rough night as Cueto tosses his worst start in some time and the Rockies fall just short last night as Chatwood gave them yet another chance to win. Rolling with another big dog today against Scherzer who has had plenty of trouble with this Boston lineup. After a couple shaky outings as a big favorite early in the year, Webster presents a nice number vs the suspected Cy Young favorite. I'm not a big fan of the Angels, but their talent is undeniable, and I also see Liriano having a blow up game any day now. He is 0-3 with a 7.46 ERA versus the Angels in 25+ IP over the past 3 years. I'm going to take a shot on it being today.
