The starters for Game 1 of the ALDS between the Tigers and Yankees have a low-scoring history in previous matchups. Look for Tuesday's game in the Bronx to follow that course.

Believe it or not, these two starting pitchers have faced each other twice in the last two years, and the Yankees won those games by scores of 2-0 and 1-0! This game may not be quite that low scoring, but we still expect it to stay under this total.

Yankees starter Chien-Ming Wang had a career year this season going 19-6 with a spiffy 3.63 ERA, and the under was a profitable 19-14 in all of his starts. He was very consistent down the stretch posting seven quality starts in his last eight outings, and he allowed just four runs in the lone non-quality effort. He also has three quality starts in four career appearances vs. Detroit, including the two scoreless outings vs. Nate Robertson, Detroit's choice for Game 1 of the ALDS.

Now the southpaw Robertson may be the fourth starter for the Tigers, but he won 13 games this year and posted a nice 3.84 ERA in 32 starts, with the under going a nice 20-11-1. Although he was hit hard in his final start of the year against Toronto, Robertson still finished up with eight quality starts in his last 10 outings. He has three quality starts in his last four appearances vs. the Yankees, and he is supported by a Tiger bullpen that finished third in the Major Leagues in pen ERA.

I actually like the Tigers to win this game 1 matchup.

I would take the tigers team under, but not the total. Yanks are finally healthy and put out the best line up on the planet. They blow this one open, take the yanks -1.5
