The Astros are desperate for a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. But they won't get it today in Atlanta against John Smoltz and the Braves.

The Houston Astros are 9-1 over their last 10 games, but keep in mind that lone loss came right here in the form of a 4-1 loss against Atlanta. Roger Clemens was their starter in that game and it doesn't get much better then beating the Rocket.

Houston has scored a paltry total of just six runs combined over their last two games. The Astros have won just twice in their last eight games in Atlanta., and they've dropped both of their last games facing John Smoltz.

The Atlanta Braves are now 5-5 over their last 10 games, including back-to-back wins in the form of 12-0 and 13-1 over the rejuvinated NY Mets. They also won 4-1 hosting the same Houston team they see here. In fact, the Braves have been very solid as of late, now 3-2 over their last five games while scoring a total of 37 runs over that time, not bad at all. Smoltz has won his last two straight starts against the Astros. Over his last two starts alone, Smoltz has seen run support in the form of 18 runs while the Braves gave up just three runs over that time. Take Atlanta to win on the moneyline here!
