    Ben Burns: Padres vs. Cardinals

    Ben Burns: Padres vs. Cardinals

    Matchup

Tonight's game will have a playoff feel and should feature quality starting pitching.

Reyes was decent his last time out, allowing two runs at Milwaukee. The fact that he had 9 K's (1 walk) in just 5 1/3 innings shows he was really dominating the hitters. Reyes has been significantly better at home than on the road and pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings, also with 9 K's to just 1 walk, his last start here.

Meanwhile, Young has been masterful on the road. In fact, he has yet to lose in 14 starts away from home, going 6-0 with a 2.50 ERA and holding opposing hitters to a mere .179 batting average. Its also worth noting that both pitchers will have the advantage of facing tonight's opponent for the first time.

Needing and getting are two different things bud.

The Cardinals are just a bad team in disaray right now. I just can't back a team that is just not playing anything near close to half there potential.
