    Pet peeve (another Detroit rant)

There's nothing more fvcking annoying than when your team starts to mount a comeback, only to have some horseshit reliever come in and give it all right back. Offense does its job to nearly erase all of the deficit, then some bullshit bum with sleep in his eyes from his bullpen nap wakes up and gets his titties ripped off.

f\*\*k you Below you fvcking loser.

I've never been able to figure this out or get a decent answer: why is there a bullpen in the first place? I understand there needs to be a place to warm up, but why do they let these pieces of shit sit down there dicking around away from the action and the rest of the team? I honestly think that's part of the problem with relievers these days -- they're pampered so much and so detached from the action that when they're actually asked to, you know, do their job, the shit hits the fan.

Chad Qualls. Another prime example. Why is this fvcking loser allowed anywhere near a MLB stadium?

They do literally all of the little things wrong. Did you see Cabrera's throw to first base during that 4-run second?

I think you are focusing too much on the premise and not on the talent. There are just as many good bullpens as bad. In the end it all comes down to the talent you have in it.

The Bullpen has been apart of the game forever, not like it is a new concept.

But why do they sit away from the action? It used to be a stone's throw away from the dugout (like old Tiger Stadium and Wrigley) -- now, in the new stadiums, they're barely in the same zip code.

There are just as many good bullpens as bad? Really? I disagree.

This year has been bad for bullpens for sure though. So many blown games when they come in.

Location probably comes down to player safety I guess. That is my only logical answer.

What amazes me about bad bullpens is how much hitting has regressed. Hell, a .300 average in the AL basically gets you into the Top-10. So how bad are these losers that they still can't get anyone out in the post-roid era?

Actual the amount of bad bullpens is disproportionate to the good ones.

    Angels
    Yankees
    Giants
    Rangers
    Cincy
    Nationals
    Baltimore

    Thatere are your good bullpens.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

In basketball, if you can't dribble, pass or shoot, you're out of a job.
In football, if you can't kick, catch, throw or run, you're out of a job.
In baseball, if you can't get anyone out, welcome to the bullpen and multi-year, million dollar contracts. No big deal if you're worthless.

Can't really include Cincy anymore. Aroldis has fallen off the deep end.

The common denominator is that even with these teams, you have one or two guys who come in and just give it up night after night. Why? You have the entire world to choose from and the best you can come up with are guys like Below and Qualls?

Has a team ever won anything without a decent bullpen?

So with that being said, why are so many "contenders" trying to stay above water without one?

Their bullpen is, well, very Cubs-esque.

What other sport, relatively speaking, could Casey Coleman become a professional in at this level of incompetence.

    Two words: Dave Duncan.

Most underrated name in baseball over the past 20 years by a wide margin.
