The Sox hitters come out and give Bucholz a 2 - 0 lead. The bottom of the same inning, Bucholz gives up his first hit of the game and then goes into a shell in which he is afraid to throw a strike. The following occurs:
Walks the .180 DH in Nick Johnson (1st and 2nd; no out)
Falls behind 3 - 0 to the number nine hitter who is trying to bunt (ends up bunting but getting an infield hit out of it; bases loaded; no out)
Walks the leadoff hitter in which he got ahead 0 and 2 and threw what should have been strike three (2 - 1 Boston; bases loaded and still zero out)
Infield single for Hardy (2 - 2; bases loaded still zero out)
Walks Markakis (2 - 3; bases loaded still zero out)
Gets Adam Jones into a double play (2 - 4; runner on 3rd and two out)
Finally gets out of the inning with a ground out.
4 runs while getting one out (two outs because of the double play but you get the point)
Baltimore will not make the playoffs this year and it will be because of pitching. They should go after an ace if they are still in contention before the trade deadline. I did cash a nice one on the O's TT o4. I always take the opposing team's total over when Buchholz is on the mound...he rarely fails to disappoint.
