Half of their pay roll is in 4 players, and 3 of those players are useless.

You're talking about the worst division in baseball. They're 2nd to the Cardinals ahead of the Brewers, Astros, Reds and Pirates. Other than the first team, how you can spin that into a positive .... well .... I guess that's why you're a Cubs fan in the first place.

betting wise the cubs are the worst team in the majors since 2003. but you're correct, division title wise they have 3 in the past 10 years (2003, 2007, and 2008)
the last 2 of those resulted in being swept out of the playoffs, so i guess we could argue about how good they really were, or how pathetic the rest of the nl central was

    Worst division in baseball?

Do me a favor... break down world series titles and world series appearances by division. Do it...

They were really good in 2008. The best teams rarely win in the MLB playoffs. It is usually some shit team like the Cardinals and their 83 wins.

corey hart should've bunted the runners over, come on roenicke

i know it's greinke as a pinch hitter but he can get a sacrifice, or at the very least then he doesn't hit into a double play

To get back to my point... in the last 10 World Series... 20 teams have played in the world series. 4 of those teams are from the NL Central. The only division to beat that is of course the AL East, which has 5.

    AL East - 5
    NL Central - 4
    AL West - 3
    NL West - 3
    NL East - 3
    AL Central - 2

AL Central = the worst... that is probably true.

Didn't watch the game but just checking out the highlights now.....Typical Cubs game/loss

Cubs have been my NL team for years now and I watch them as much as I can, but the guy who said its not over with this team....ever, is 100% correct

It never fukkin ends with the Cubs man.......They will be better soon though (2 years)

I made a lot of money on them last season after the all star break even though they weren't good, they had a really good month or so I remember

Cubs brought in 8 different pitchers, 7 of them walked at least one batter, and 3 of them walked @ least 2 batters.

    Cubs are a tragedy.

Well, at least I didn't have to watch the end of that one, for fukks sake Kerry Wood starts with 8 straight balls? I would have been throwing shit. Maybe we can trade him for a decent bathroom at Wrigley.

I bet he wouldn't even fetch that. The other team would be like, "Nah we would rather have our nice bathrooms."

strange huh? but i wouldn't go so far as to say he didn't suck - he did throw 9 straight balls to start the inning before wiggling out of it

Volstad has been working hard this week on his stretch mechanics... and the dude is fighting for his job. He may get hit a bit but he'll know how to deal with it.

Cubs bats are hot right now too. Marcum is gonna get thrashed. Bullpens are depleted. Over looks good but Cubs are the play I think.
