Philadelphia Phillies at Washington Nationals

Brett Myers (9-6, 4.23 ERA) will toe the slab tonight for the Phillies. Myers looks to keep rolling after one of his strongest outings of the season for Philadelphia.

The right-hander improved to an impressive 6-1 in 12 road starts this season with a win over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday, giving up just one run on four hits in eight innings of the 2-1 victory.

Myers is 4-0 in his last four road starts, while going 0-3 in his last four outings at home.

Tony Armas Jr. (8-9, 5.05) tops the hill for Washington tonight. After allowing the Phillies three runs in 5 1-3 innings on August 18th, Armas suffered his worst outing of the year last Wednesday at Florida, giving up eight runs and 10 hits in just 12-3 innings in a 9-7 defeat.

The loss dropped the right-hander to 1-4 with a 7.43 ERA and a .350 opponent batting average in his last six starts, with the the victory Phillies his only win during that span.

Armas is 7-5 with a 4.80 ERA in 15 career starts against Philadelphia.

The bottom line is we look for Myers to continue his strong road pitching tonight, while we expect Armas to rebound from his last start and pitch well against the Phillies who he has done pretty well against in his career.
