    Blue Jays at Indians

    Blue Jays at Indians

We feel we have a strong edge in the starting pitching department in this match-up. We also certainly have a bullpen edge too as the Indians have one of the weakest pens in baseball.

The Blue Jays pen isn't great but it tops the Indians. Burnett certainly tops Byrd as well.

It took Burnett awhile to round into form but he's in tip-top shape again now. Burnett has won four straight starts and this has included knocking off three playoff contenders and accumulating a 3.04 ERA over this stretch of fine work.

As for Byrd, he was absolutely hammered by the Royals in his last start. Miraculously, Cleveland came back and won that game. It is games like that which are the reason that Byrd still hasn't lost since the All Star break. Byrd certainly hasn't done it with his pitching as he's accumulated a 5.70 ERA and a .358 BAA since the break.

Look for the Blue Jays to pummel Byrd and the Indians pen tonight as long as the rain can stay away from Cleveland. Look for Burnett to come up with another solid start as the Jays continue to eye a possible playoff spot.

Byrd got lit up in last start against the Royals but I expect him to bounce back tonight against the Blue Jays.
