well i think he is talented...but he just had a really good end of the year last year and high public perception made him the "marquee free agent" this summer. It's not his fault...i mean i would have taken the money in a heart beat. It's just a poor job on Met's management thinking they identified a superstar based on half a year.

I never like recruiting guys that are real religious as they are not competitive enough and are too much into Bible and not the team.

Sounds like John Kitna...man, that guy was one religious fanatik. Religion and sports just don't mix.

He never should've been given that much. One great postseason does not make you a great player.

totally wrong Beltran has been very good for the most part.

He was bad his first year and suffered an injury last year, but the Mets have gotten 3 1/2 quality years out of him.

    His OPS+ the last 5 years 96/150/125/129/143, His WAR/Value (acording to fangraphs) 1.8/6.3, 7.0/25.7, 4.9/20.1, 6.7/30.1, 2.9/13.2.

Beltran has been one of the best signings the Mets have made the last 6 years. Look at this year, his offense is only slightly lower than Jason Bay (Beltran a 127 ops+ v Bays career 131) and Beltran is one of the best center fielders in baseball, while Bay is a major liability ain the outfield.

lots of ballplayers from south america are. they dont have televisions, so they cant see that 90% of smart people in north america have learned that religion is fake.

i haven't really noticed rivera holding his cross in his fingers praying for a strike. he believes more in his skill i think
