LA Dodgers. A deal for a starting pitcher would be extremely important for this to happen.

You can already tell the Braves are going to make a big run. Chuck James is money, Smoltz is unreal, and the top of the order is on fire. If Hudson can return to his former self at all, that will be like adding a dominant pitcher.
Their bullpen is much better than people think - not that it's great, but it's nowhere near as bad as they were early.

I think Hendrickson will help them a lot - I'm concerned more with their bullpen.

I think if the Dodgers had a better bullpen and
one more reliable starter they would be the best
    team in the National League.

Yeah, but you could say that about Atlanta, NYM, St. Louis, Milwaukee, and Cincinnati too. It's just a matter of spending the money, which we know the Mets and Dodgers are most likely to do.

Razz, I actually think that the NLCS will be NY Mets and LA Dodgers. The Dodgers need a little more consistency with their starting pitching in my opinion. Any bolster to their pitching staff would be welcome and warranted in my opinion. I think Baez is OK as a setup guy. I know he was atrocious early but I think he'll settle in his role and do well in it.

I'll go with the obvious in the AL: Detroit and ChiSox. Does good pitching beat good hitting or vice versa? We shall see. I hope Leyland is very careful in the 2nd half with his pitching staff. They have been lights-out the 1st half. I think pulling back on those horses may be the key for the Tigers in the 2nd half so they are fresh for the month of October.

My daddy always told me good pitching beats good hitting.

sonny, i'm just curious why you think the giants might make a run?

this team is too old to endure the remaining schedule, due to there age factor IMO

They're only 3 1/2 games back of the first place SDG.Consider
Bond last year with the Giants.Bond know it.the Giants know it,and I think everybody involved is determined to make a playoff push in what is likely the last run for this club.

i disagree with the bonds part bud.

bonds won't be playing everyday, and might even be inditaded as early as next week. if he is indeed inditaded soon, the giants will fold just like the d'backs did after that grimsley incident.

Rangers will if they ever start hitting. This team is full of bats and they finally get some pitching and they forget how to hit!

Blue Jays will also do some damage.

Looks like Mark Teixeira fixed his swing in the game yesterday, he had 3 home runs in that game against the Orioles.
