Definetely, Cardinals don't have a shot in post-season in my opinion.

The Cards are near the top of a lot of offensive categories.
They hit into a lot of double plays because they always have people on base.
Likewise, when you have Pujols, Berkman, or Holiday batting, you're not going to put runners in motion and drive yourself out if an inning.
The Cardinals are a great offensive team with average starting pitching and a bad bullpen.
They are not overrated. They are a fringe playoff team.
Larussa is overrated but not the team. If the Cards had a better pen, they would probably have about 10 more wins. This team had blown a ton of saves this year. I think they blew like three in the first week

Overrated? The public sees them as a potential wild card team, they are a potential wild card team. No one is making claims that the STL pitching staff is going to win a World Series. They will be 3:1 dogs in the opening series against Philadelphia if they make it, meaning the bookmakers are giving them a 25% chance of winning a playoff series. No one is overrating them.

Agreed. I have seen nothing but the Carfinals suck threads. How are they overrated?
They did take 3 of 4 in Philly beating Lee and Halladay.
I'm a Cardinals fan and if they get in I think they would be lucky to win a game. That being said, anything could happen especially if their offense gets hot.

colts are garbage without peyton manning, and the cardinals would suck without all those badass hitters.
but they do have all those badass hitters, therefore they don't suck. they are fun to watch, i like teams that can hit. i think braves are the boring bad team.

This thread was obviously meant for the NFL and not baseball section. I'd like to see how any other team would do losing their best starting pitcher for the whole year and best player in baseball for 3 weeks. And for an overrated manager, he sure did a great job last night. He also wouldn't have been as dumb as the Detroit and NY yankees managers sending their best starting pitcher out in game 1 when there was nasty weather in the area and only getting 1 inning out of them. LaRussa had a similar situation early in the year where he started a relief pitcher, and when the game resumed after a 2 1/2 hour rain delay in the second inning, put in the scheduled starter while the Reds wasted theirs. Guess who won that game and managed to get a wild card spot on the last day of the season?
