If you beat the closer today

    You got buried.

Just goes to show how much of a toss-up baseball can be -- either that, or the books like fvcking with people who worry so much about it.

On line moves of more than 10 cents Wednesday:

Kansas City opened at +116 and closed at +103. Lost.
Atlanta opened at +120 and closed at +100. Lost.
Toronto opened at +157 and closed at +137. Lost.
Cleveland opened at -132 and closed at -153. Lost.
Colorado opened at -103 and closed at -123. Lost.
Pittsburgh opened at +169 and closed at +153. Lost.
Tampa Bay (Game 2) opened at +173 and closed at +156. Lost.

Only the Orioles and Nationals prevailed on big line movement today. This followed up a big day for line movement yesterday, which it typically does. I've noticed that if you drill closing lines in baseball one day, the next is typically a bloodbath. Coincidence?

So, what you're saying is.....the 7 hours you spent in front of the computer watching line movement was really a waste if time?

So are you saying that the books would move a line 20 cents in the opposite direction of where the money is actually coming in so that they can "trick" people into taking the other side because they knew or or could somehow manipulate the outcomes of the seven games you referenced?

Why would they risk getting more money in support of the team they allegedly know would win by putting that team at a more attractive price?

Just cap your games i wouldnt let this affect your plays otherwise you are gonna give yourself a headache and start second guessing yourself on line movements

How can you say that let's see what happens if you beat the closer by 10 cents every day for a full season

Let's say we went 55% with 300 plays beating the closer by 10 cents each night playing 100$ a game at -110 avg. (I think this is a fair representation of an average better)

    165 wins - 135 loss
    at -110 16 500$ - 14 850$ = Profit of 1650$
    Closers at -120 16 500$ - 16 200$ = Profit of 300$

I'm not saying you don't have to pick winners also but beating closers are very important. It can make the difference between a winning better or a losing one

You can't beat closing line all the time. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. The only thing matters is to make profit over long haul. The rest is bonus. If you're beating closing line often, your profits may increase but it doesnt make you a winner or loser over long haul. This year, many times line moved against me but I'm happy with my profits.

The problem about bettors is, they're effected by line movement just too much! Don't let the line movements effect you guys. Line doesn't play the game, players do. Good luck..

    Wow...

So....according to you, when we beat the closer we make MORE money. However, making more money doesn't lead to long term profits.

And, even though you made bad bets where the line moved against you, you are satisfied making less money than you would have made if you beat the closer.

Are you sure you want to stand behind those comments? I hope not because they really make you sound like a noob and you could not be more wrong.
