Why not? Porcello hasn't proven he can get anyone out much recently, he has an ERA of 6 at home this year, and he's given up 10 ER on 21 hits vs. KC at home in his last two starts.
I wouldn't lay -150 on the Tigers if you held a gun to my head. Royals might win this game. Only reason I wouldn't take them is their bullpen's penchant for collapse lately.
Like this pick...especially at +EV money. Porcello is bad, plain and simple...and the Tigers bullpen is horrendous too. Royals should break this easily.

This isn't a horrible pick, but definitely not for this reason. Personally I think Porcello will end up with a good game today. He's due.
i like this one...wind is blowing in.......but...porcello is garbage.

As for Detroit's bullpen, yes, it's been better lately. Still sub-par, though. Valverde has saved it from being in the bottom half of the league overall, to put it mildly.
Like I said, I'd like to take the Royals SU -- just don't trust them in the late innings. Maybe a FF play.
Velverde has given up 45 hits, 5 HR, and 31 walks in 58 IP. He is having a lucky, abielt fantastic year. Closers who put runners on and pitch to contact are gascan waiting to explode. Coke is okay, and Benoit is good. Ryan Perry is trash, garbage, whatever...he is horrible. Idc what he has done in his last 7 IP. Porcello has an ERA of 6.00 at home. He may pitch well today, but betting on the "he's due" theory is a great way to go broke.

On top of everything else I said, The Tigers bullpen ranks 25th in ERA, 23rd in BA, 26th in BBs, 19th in Ks, 29th in .OBP, 19th in .SLG, 23rd in .OPS, 29th in WHIP, and 28th in K/BB ratio.
The bullpen is bad. Plain and simple.
Honestly -- and I'm a Tiger fan -- this team has no business being in any kind of "pennant chase." Fortunately, the AL Central is one of the worst divisions to come down the pike in a long time.

I noted Perry's 7 innings because that's since he's returned from the minors. He's actually looked pretty good.
