    Wrong team is favored tonight in Chicago

    I know Soriano isn't playing tonight, but that might actually help the Cubs since he was only hitting .166 in his last 8 games, and with no home runs.

    The Cubs haven't performed well in the third game of a series this year, going 13-23 while the Cards have gone 22-16. The Cubs are 6-20 in their last 26 Sunday games. Now, these stats are the only reason I can see why the Cards are favored, because nothing else makes sense.

    The Cubs' Lopez has an ERA of 1.12 in his last four home starts. The Cubs are averaging 5 runs per game in their last 7 home games, compared to the Cards' 3.8. Cubs bullpen is 2.59 in the last 10 games.

    I'm backing the Cubs at +128 to get a primetime sweep, and the game will go over 8.5 (which will be added to my totals system thread, which is currently 6-3 with one game pending)

    The Cubs still have 12 outs to make up four runs. I've heard of that happening before. Let the game play out.

    Either way, it looks like the over will cash so there's no way this game can hurt too much.

    Lopez was really lousy....tonight. Prior to tonight, he had only given up 3 earned runs in 11 innings and had won his last three home starts. I stand by my analysis. Take off the hindsight glasses.

    I'm aware of the stats, and I'm also aware of something called sample size.

    I'll take Westbrook over Lopez any day of the week.

    Even if you want to argue they're even, the Cardinals have an easily better lineup.
