Beckett v. Hernandez
Ellsbury, Pedroia and Gonzalez are in a mini funk... However
Hernandez endured one of his worst outings of the year at Fenway Park on July 22, when the Red Sox reached him for six runs, 11 hits and four walks in 6 1-3 innings and beat Seattle 7-4. With that said that was @ Fenway, this is in Seattle, but if past performance is an indication of future results;
The right-hander is 4-2 with a 3.39 ERA in 10 starts versus Boston, but has never opposed Beckett. Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is 10 for 33 with a homer and two doubles off Hernandez, while second baseman Dustin Pedroia is 9 for 25 (.360).
1st baseman Justin Smoak out, after trying to field a baseball with his face, Seattle is replacing him w/ Mike Carp who has good numbers against Beckett and went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs in a loss to the Red Sox on Friday.
IMHO I see this game going over.
