    Cy Young Winners in August..

    AL: Jered Weaver

    NL: Cole Hammels

Any disputes? There are definitely other great candidates, but as of now, I think these two take the cake.

Is definitely between weaver and verlander... very close race in my eyes--
weavers 1.78 era through 24 starts is ridiculous, but so is verlanders .87 whip and 16 wins to go along with it..

I think it will be interesting to see how things shape up the next two months

crazy enough and i hate to say it, but hamels has been more dominate then halladay this season.. Through 25 starts, hamels has held opponents to 2 or less runs 18 times... that number right there is crazy. And only 3 times over 3 runs allowed. He also has the slighty better whip and era then the Doc. Innings pitched, Doc is definitely a horse, but I dont think that along with 1 extra win puts him past Cole.

I think Verlander's no hitter and Weaver's throw at Avila's head in their matchup gives Verlander a slight edge, but both have been great so far.
