    It happens every year. When you play this many games per year, you have to be prepared for something like the Cubs sweeping the Phillies. Last year, the Yankees got 4-game swept at home by the Orioles.

    I wouldn't give the Cubs too much credit. It's more like the Phillies top pitchers just didn't bother coming to Chicago with their good stuff.

    And...the Philly hitters figured they could just come in and play a C+ game and put forth C+ effort and still win. 9 out of 10 times this senario would result in a Philly win over the Cubs, but just not looking like it will pan out tonight.

    i swore off Cubs games for the season a couple of weeks back in the third inning of Garza's start in DC when he came off the mound to throw a ball into the RF concessions. think of it this way: most days, there are 10-15 games - crossing the Cubs game off and calling that one for entertainment/shenanigans purposes only is so much less stressful than wagering on those tomato cans.
