Interesting move, harden had thrown 115 pitches. I think he can throw 125 with the break coming up.

Because Guiterrez was 0 for 5 lifetime against Walden, looking foolish all five times, Scioscia more than likely wanted a fresh Walden then a tiring Harden.
End result, Haren gets the win, Walden gets the save, and now Guiterrez is 0 for 6 lifetime versus Walden looking foolish now all six times.

This is why Scioscia is one of the best in-game managers going, he probably knew the match up was Walden against Guiterrez before the 8th inning even ended.

How is it a dumb move?

First off, Haren is coming off of back to back 120 ptich count games, which is pretty much as far as he can go, Ackley led off the inning with a double, then Haren needed six pitches to punch out Smoak, now Haren is pushing a third straight 120 pitch count game, he needed four or five more to get Kennedy, and like I said in a previous post, Walden flat out owns Guitterez, 0 for 5 going into that at bat.

    Correct move.

i actually agree with someone who's opinion is usually more worthless than a 2 dollar hooker. Guiterrez smoked the ball last ab against Haren and like fukhead is saying Waldon has great numbers against him, i would have preferred closer from the start of the inning as i doubt sea hitting anyone throwing smoke like that. But again like the most pathetic mvp in nba history is saying, you really cant argue with much that manager does.

Mike Soscia is a guy who increases the chances os his team winningv with his decisions. Total opposite of Dusty Baker.
