AZ is hitting .255 and has 42 runs batted in the last 7 days. They are 29-24 first in the NLW looking to win 7 in a row today. They have averaged 5.1 runs and an ERA of 3.04 in the last 14 games.
In their recent success is Juan Miranda is batting .364 with 10 RBIs in his last nine games.
Nady loves playing against FL and he is hitting .333 with six RBIs in his last seven, and .353 with three homers and nine RBIs in his last 12 games versus Florida.
Joe Saunders takes the mound for Arizona coming of a win. The left-hander allowed two solo homers in eight innings to earn his first win in a 5-2 victory at Colorado. He may not have to face Hanley Ramirez as he left Sunday's game with stiffness in his lower back. Although he is day to day he is .210 with four homers and 17 RBIs on the year so he's not much of a threat right now. He will however have to watch out for Logan Morrison who is batting .450 in his last five games.
Volstad is 1-2 with a 5.51 ERA in three starts against Arizona and is is 0-2 with a 5.46 ERA in five starts.
Hitting continues to be a problem for FL although they are hitting .249 they have only scored 21 runs in the last 7 days and got shut out by the lowly dodgers in an 8-0 loss yesterday with Nolasco on the mound. Morrison and Infante got the only 2 hits in that game.
Both good teams, but they are going in the opposite directions right now and the lack of run support for FL will be a problem as they go against a HOT AZ team that has been averaging more than 5 runs for the last 2 weeks and has won 6 straight at home.
Look for AZ to go up early against Volstad and just work the pen.
