Alexi Ogando (4-0 2.06 ERA) vs Danny Duffy (0-0 0.00 ERA). Duffy is coming from triple-A to make his major league debut against Ogando and the Rangers. Duffy does have good minor league numbers (3-1 3.00 ERA), but I don't think this is a good spot for him to get his first win. Ogando has been great so far, and while Kansas City's lineup has looked pretty good, I don't think they are going to do enough against Alexei. Lay the chalk with the Rangers tonight.
I noticed the line move as well, but I'm not too worried about it. Duffy will probably have the MLB debut jitters and Ogando is really on his game right now. This is a good spot for Texas.
Just remember that KC is 15-10 at home this year. Just because it's a guys first start doesn't mean it's a negative. The lack of scouting and being able to get through a lineup for the first few time that can't hit lefties isn't such a bad thing. Public is hammering Texas, yet the line begs for a play on Texas. KC + money at home or pass.
duffy is a top royals prospect from what I read. There isn't much scouting on this guy yet and betting a top prospect making his major league debut has worked very well for me in the past. Ogando has good stuff but royals due for a home win here.
KC has the worst fundamentals of any team in baseball . . . TWO runners picked off in the same inning, give up two runs in extra innings on ONE hit, pitchers that walk THIRTEEN batters (and the game's still not over). Simply awful and inexcusable.
