Dudes that drive 1970 Pintos call their cars, "Shrines."
Yankees have class
Cubs and Red Sox don't
Both have old buildings called "Shrines."
Yankees are better than that
yeah thanks fans
we love so much we're moving into a brand new stadium
raising prices so much alot of you wont be able to afford coming to games
oh and by the way thanks for paying all our salaries
with all the $8 beers and $6 hot dogs you consume
which cost us about a quarter and a nickel(FIVE CENTS)
to provide
you guys sure are swell!!
don't forget to pick up some nice $40 t-shirts and $25 caps
on your way home which cost us about $1 apiece to be made in china
Screw that. I am a Yanks fan and (partial) season ticket holder. I am looking forward to my new larger seats, increased sight lines, the great hall, outdoor concession stands on all levels, new public facilities for local Bronx youth... I could go on. Places that go on forever end up like fenway, not enough uncomfortable seats, out of touch with desires of baseball fans (remember the piss troughs), terrible ballgame experience (ever had to sit behind one of those support poles?).
It's a shame we can't stay at the Cathedral forever... but then again it isn't...
I will definitely miss the stadium. It was a big part of my childhood and adulthood. But then again, this isn't the same structure that Ruth played in during the 20s. It has been rebuilt many times from the interior. This new stadium will resemble the old, but it will have all the modern amenities you can ask for and is supposed to be magnificent. But I will not enjoy the jacked up prices.
