I was talking with someone who knows their tennis very well two weeks ago and they told me they see the downfall of Roddick coming very soon and it will be ugly. I sort of laughed saying I highly doubt that especially after his hardcourt performance this past spring. The fact that he's losing and about to lose to Gilles Simon tonight is a pure joke. Simon hasn't shown anything that he has regained his old form and even then Roddick in the US and on this surface shouldn't be struggling this match.
I was a bit down tonight after Isner killed my parlay but if Roddick does lose I'll be feeling a bit better. Regardless I'm going to be extremely careful with Roddick the rest of this open series and into the US Open.
Even if he turns around and wins this match it won't change my opinion.
