i see Eugenie has qualified for Wimbledon and quite easily at times.

as an ardent canadian tennis fan, i can tell you this is an incredible turnaround. genie had barely won any matches anywhere the last year (really the last 2 years, but she did a nice run - beat sharapova - once). and some of her score lines were incredibly bad. like she was in a bad place mentally and physically vis-a-vis tennis.

i wouldn't necessarily post about this but there is a very interesting reason why she may have improved so fast.

she is now working with robert lansdorp in los angeles. i believe he worked very successfully with sharapova and lindsey davenport in the past... basically less topspin and flatter ball. also probably a blueprint for tennis strategy.

i think this is a positive trend that the market won't be completely aware of. due to it being bouchard the recognition might come faster than a similar pedigreed player with much less personal popularity.
