    Pliskova would be a good pick where this on a hard surface, and even then she's struggled against Halep who's one of the best returners in the wta... Pliskova without the serve is just another Jankovic; good but no bite... draw was kind to her as the usual suspects tanked in the early rounds

    That's because Pliskova plays like sh'e half asleep. She acts like she's on the training ground, hitting the balls nonchalantly like : Oh well, who cares, tonight I'm going to the movies. She is not a grinder. I put her in the same category as Radwanska, Jankovic, Keys and somewhat Wozniacki. They all look for the Exit at the first sign of controversy. I avoid betting on them if I can.

    Pliskova's game seems nonchalant especially when down a break/serve not working, but she's always delivered until semi's/final and can't seem to get over that hump... I'll give her credit as didn't think she'd make the quarter finals.
    Halep is a beast, especially having pulled off that magic trick against Svito: being down a set and losing 5 - 2 in the 2nd.
