Nadal raising the level week after week and mentally also much stronger. The way he managed to take the win against Karlovic was Nadal vintage showing all his mental strenght under pressure. Rafa brought the confidence from that match to defeat Raonic in straight sets with a very solid performance.
Stan was 3 hours on court with Cilic, with around 17 / 18 hours between the two matches and will have to face one of the best competitors that have ever played the game. Nadal so determined to do well while Stan has been far from his best outside Grand Slams, true that he has been making an extra effort in last two weeks but this might be a good time for him to get some rest.
Adding to this, Nadal top spin forehand is very hard to handle and his crossed forehand with that tremendous spin will explore Wawrinka shoulder problems. One handed backhand requires a huge ammount of strenght and Wawrinka was hitting many slices today, if he does that against Rafa the Spaniard will punish him like he does against Federer for example.
